The main issue here is that small files (even if smaller than a block) will take an entire block. Remove it (physically) and its drivers, and then open the Control Panel. It's pretty bogus, but that's NEC for you. Settings are 50 (default), 60, or 66. navigate here

This site hosts no abandonware. If you can't run the machine in a decent high colour resolution, you need to add more memory. For what it's worth some people have actually figured out a way of getting the computer to run faster. As far as the printed booklet goes, you may as well burn it for all the good it does... Choose the System Settings icon. Then turn the machine back on and use it for a few hours. You may need to use Win95's Fdisk program to prepare the new drive for use and then format it, but typically EIDE/IDE drives these days come with that already done. Large partitions are only really needed if you're handling lots of large files and why you'd be trying to do that on an underpowered Ready 7022 is beyond me... :) Want It turns out that if I put a Windows 2000 CD in on startup, that will activate the EZ-Drive DDO. The default set up is with the 1GB harddrive on the first IDE controller and the CD-ROM on the second. To change the speed of the machine from 75MHz to 100MHz you have two choices: first, you can overclock the P75 chip. Turn off the machine, open up the case, look to the top left of the motherboard for a jumper labled 75/100 and set it to 100. I strongly recommend starting with a fresh install of Windows'95 from the Recovery CD. Here're a few titbits that I've run into over the last few years. Then save the BIOS settings and continue merrily on your way. Also, the Windows Sound System mode works with the DOS games I've tried that support it.
That said, the Ready is a dinosaur and has been pretty much since it was originally built. The system uses an obscure Opti/NEC82C930 sound system that offers Windows Sound System and Sound Blaster Pro compatibility. Then save your settings and watch some games work! To upgrade it, you need two 256 KB by 16 DRAM modules.
Oh, all upgrade suggestions, etc, are done at your risk. There's a jumper in the centre of the motherboard between the VRAM slots and the two Intel PCI chips. Basically, I just got the thing working and have installed Windows 95. The larger the partition the larger each block is -- with a 2GB partition each block is 32k; with a 1GB partition each block is 16k; with a 512MB partition it's
